A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of reviewing the High Tea at the Sofitel Viaduct Harbour with the lovely Miss Sok. The weather couldn't make up it's mind: spring showers or sunshine, warm breeze or howling gale, but once we were curled up in the Louis XVI style chairs, wallowing in luxury, we had no care for the outside world. It was lovely to sit and relax, to catch up on each other's news, sip on French champagne and much away on delicate treats. Life is hard sometimes.
We loved the flaky buttery pastry of the mini quiche and croissant, the hazelnut ganache in the belly of the profiterole that was the favourite. The tea selection was vast and offered a range of flavours such as fabulous feijoa and jasmine princess but both paled in comparison to the bubbles on offer which won the title of 'longest name of anything I've ever had to drink'. I was impressed.
I won't blather on here, but if you're into High Tea, or you're looking for somewhere nice to take your mum or someone special over the silly season head on over to High Tea Society and check out my full review.
