Today I took Wil for a walk down to the new (ish) food court area behind Cook Street Village. There are a number of exciting new eateries in this area: La Taquisa, WannaWafel, King Thai, Caffe Fantastico, an Ethiopian place and today's lunch choice: Minato Express Sushi.
Since it was lunch time we eat chose one of their combo plates to start with; Wil chose 'D' and I 'C'. Wil's include two nigiri of his choice and two rolls. Mine had two pieces of futomaki with crab and salmon, a california roll, a cucumber roll and a spicy tuna roll. The futomaki were by far the highlight of my meal and I could see Wil eyeing them up, but today it was all for me.
The sushi was certainly fresh and tasty and a step above your average food court sushi, but it was no Ebizo. We will definitely be back to try the other vendors at this food court - if you're in the area and feeling like sushi for lunch then Minato wouldn't be a bad spot to stop.
