When we moved into our condo back in May we were stoked to find so many delicious eateries within a few steps of our front door. Funnily enough though we've never made it to any but Subway, until now. This evening, feeling rather proud of ourselves after surviving our first run and feeling like something a little healthy, we decided to pick up a few rolls from our local sushi bar: Futaba.
We chose combo B for two which included nigiri, a california roll, a hosomaki, and a spicy tuna roll. We also added a chicken teriyaki roll but this was my least favourite and I think was more than we needed. The sushi was tasty enough but not so much so that we'll be coming back anytime soon, or abandoning our other favourites in town. My preferred roll was the spicy tuna which was covered in the bright orange roe that has become one of my favourite parts of roll style sushi.

The nigiri was a little chewy and the fish didn't seem as fresh as it usually does whenever we dine in, but maybe that was due to it sitting there waiting for pick up and then the journey home. There are certainly some interesting looking items on the Futaba menu that I'd be open to trying another time but at the moment it'll slip off my must try list unless I'm home mid-week and after some lunch as their lunch time specials do look like super value.

As far as we're concerned Futaba was good but not great, and Azuma is still number 1.
